I agree with Mike, though we may not eat the same cereal "How do you know you have a cracked head or block????????????????????????
One thing you will learn, hopefully sooner then later is never guess or assume anything about a Rover, go to the machine shop, they can test both." For certain, before doing anything too costly, have the block checked to be sure it does not have any cracking behind any cylinder liners, and have heads checked too, especially for flatness; no warping at all. Auto. Machine shop can do this testing for you.

I'm saying something is cracked because the port is steam cleaned, oil kinda looks milky and the head gasket was destroyed on the driver side. The passenger side gaskets look good and that's where the clean port is.

once again the machine shop will let you know if you have a cracked head,
i know what your'e trying to do but you cant diagnosis it for free, your'e going to have step-up and a least have the heads checked.
