Default Is a 2.5" pipe wide enough for a 4.0 to breathe through?

Building a raised intake and found this awesome flexi pipe for some of the more complex bends that is approx 2.5" in diameter...

Help?

It should be larger, perhaps 25% larger than what is on the intake ducting since you're increasing the distance that the air must flow through the system. Note to that the inside of most of the intake duct are smooth plastic, and when you use a flexible connector it creates an even greater resistance to flow.

All this might not be an issue if your running at relatively low RPMs. Good luck on your project - it sounds like fun.
