2000 Disco dies when hot, only starts when cold (replaced the CAS)
Aright guys. I double checked my wiring over and over. Bypassing the OEM wiring did not do it. Still gives the same problems.
I did find something however. When the truck is in a non start condition (cranks but no spark) momentarily grounding and ungrounding the pink/black wire allows the truck to start again!
This method doesn’t work when the truck is at full running temp, but does work when the truck is cooling down. (When otherwise you’d need to wait until the truck is dead cold to start again)
Grounding the pink/black wire seems to reset something or maybe temporally re-arc a connection/ground. For example, last night I went to fiddle around with the truck some more. And it would not start, just cranked and cranked. So I pulled off the passenger kick plate tapped the pink/black wire to ground, returned to the driver seat and the truck started right up.
When i I tap the pink/black wire on ground, I hear all kinds of realays clicking in the engine bay. For example the fuel relay, also the ignition relays, and I think some others as well.

At one point you say cranks but no SPARK, only fuel and at another point you say no FUEL but has spark. Unlikely to be both and which one matters for a reasonable chance of diagnosis!
That being said, I'd say: get a new fuel pump.

oops good call! I corrected my error. Cranks but no SPARK.
In that case I'd think a problem with the crank position sensor or ECU which could even be "bad ground" related.
I don't mean to add to the confusion, but I had always heard that a failure of the CkPS killed the fuel pump.
The only thing for sure that the RAVE states is that the tach fails to read when the CkPS fails.
I do agree the traditional symptoms of stalling when hot though sounds like it is a problem with the CkPS. I just don't understand why your wiring bypass completely fails. It is properly connected to all 3 pins right?
