Default Hard start

I have a 01 land rover disco 2 se. My main problem is some times it will start right up and run fine, yet others it will turn over until the batterie is dead. I have recently replaced the spark plugs and cleaned the IACV and throttle body. I have new plug wires (haven't put In yet). Does anyone have any ideas what it might be? I appreciate all the help I can get.

My main thought is crank sensor issues!
OR fuel pump
Expect to see this failure at between 90K and 125K miles on the crank sensor!

The other can be electrical connection activities especially under the fuse box with the harness sockets often after you have had a gassing battery.

In either cases it will cause a no start, intermittent start and be most prevalent when the engine is hot after a hot shut down--If it runs that long.

On Bosch systems the crank position sensor signal excites the PCM to respond and give you engine control signal activity.

It will also affect fuel pump operation AND in any case don't overlook this unit by doing a pressure check. Connection is to found behind the plenum on the right side of the engine.
