Hey, I'm new here and I thought you guys would be able to help me. This is my first rover that I've owned and it's got a bad fuel pump the guy I bought it from told me, so I got a used pump from a 99 disco (mine is a 2000), will the pump from the 99 work in the 2000? Cheers!

 

The 99's came both in the D1 and D2 model. If your 100% sure it came from the D2 then it should work without issue.

 

I would stay away from a pump with more then 100,000 miles on it cause they do wear out and will not supply the fuel pressure required.
What exactly is wrong with your current pump and be specific as to what has been checked so far?

 

What are the differences in a d1 and d2? And I'm not sure what is wrong with it exactly. It gets to my place tomorrow evening so I will update with more info then.

 

There are rebuilt kits for the D2 pump on ebay, I'm not sure if they are legit though. If your plastic housing for the pump isn't bad/cracked look into that, if you don't know if its cracked go under the truck while its running and smell for fuel. I had one that was cracked so I had to pony up the 400$ for one :/

 

D1 and D2 are totally different.
