2000 Disco II Misfire - UPDATE
Sorry to bug you guys ......
I started last night with a P0307. Here's what I've done:
- replaced plugs (used p4s)
- cleaned throttle body (it was pretty dirty)
- sent in a can of sea foam as per Seafoam Induction Procedure - LAND ROVER CLUB V.I.
- added a can of sea foam to the fuel tank (1/2 full)
- bled the coolant system (got lucky and the bleed screw in the upper hose was thumb tightened. Still ordered a new hose, wanted to continue working yesterday, I know that I'll bleed the system again)
I had the code cleared and the SES light cleared. Within 30 seconds, it was back, blinking. The codes this timer were: P0300 & P0307.
I put a plug tester on the #7 wire and confirmed there was good spark, so I don't suspect the wire or the coil.
Below is a pic of the #7 plug as compared to another. #7 is on the right. Notice that it's much darker.
I found this post: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...ng-p304-25540/ The OP's fix was to replace the coil. However, does it make sense in my case, since the #7 spark was good and hot?
Questions:
1. Does it make sense that the seafoam still needs to burn through the system? Should I just give it more time?
2. Does it also make sense that I might have a bad cylinder - leakdown test?
3. What else should I consider?
Thanks guys!
