is there a fuse or something to check?

 

one of the most common problems with the disco. usually the problem is the regulator in the window. a small plastic wheel breaks. that wheel keeps the window in it's track. Look in the owners manual for fuse locations, and test to see if that is the problem. It could just be stuck. You didn't mention whether you could hear the motor.
