Default 2000 discovery brake pads

i will be changing the front and rear break pads on my 2000 discovery, i have changed brakes on other types of vehicles before, but before i start this project i was wondering if there is anything i should be aware of. for instance is there any special tools i need to get the pads off? any tips oradvice would be great. thanks

Nothing special. Make sure and use good sound deadning material on the backs of the pads before you put them in, open the bleed screw before compressing the caliper pistons so the junk doesn't go back up the line, and do a full flush after you are done. That should keep her happy.

What brand of pads are you going with?

You may need a hex socket to remove one of the caliper bolts, otherwise you'll be fine.
What brand of brake pads are you planning on using?

What brand of brake pad is recommended for theDisco and Disco II? Also, is that the best time to inspect any other parts, clean ABS sensor, etc?

Thanks,
Mark

Kind of depends on the type of driving you are doing. I would suggest you go to Auto Zone and buy some of their lifetime guaranteed ceramic pads if you want a good middle of the road pad that seems to last well and makes little dust or noise.
