2000 Discovery II P1884 OBD2 Code

RE: 2000 Discovery II P1884 OBD2 Code
I said the flow is strong, but only initially. Is the fuel pump controlled by the computer. In other words could the fuel pump supply pressure initially, then be shut down by the computer after the first several revolutions? I am assuming the computer is shutting down all ignition and fuel supply components based on some info fed to it upon start. I hate to keep replacing parts that have nothing to do with the DTC code stored in the computer. Could the geabox fault tell the computer to shut down all ignition and fuel components to avoid further damage to the gearbox?

RE: 2000 Discovery II P1884 OBD2 Code
Has anyone out there ever seen the DTC: P1884 CAN message WFPDK (DKI) invalid (FFh) and or have an interpretation of what it means. I can't find anything on the web regarding the interpretation of this message. Does anyon know what WFPDK, DKI, or FFh stands for?

Fuel pumps fail one of two ways, they dont work altogether, or they dont provide enough PSI to run the car.
So, if your pump cannot hold pressure while the engine is running then your pump is bad.
The pump comes on when you turn on the key to pressurize the fuel system, once pressure is made then it shuts off. Once you start the car it keeps running to keep the fuel PSI.
It is like a garden hose, you turn the facuet on a little and leave the sprayer alone and the hose builds pressure, sqeeze the handle and good pressure for a minute but then it drops off.
You are going to need to do is rent a fuel PSI tester and check the fuel PSI. I think AutoZone has them.
You will hook it up, start the trk and see what the PSI does. If it drops and then the trk quits you know it is the fuel pump.
I have no idea about those codes.
