2001 Disco SE vs 2004 Disco SE
Whats the difference between a 2001 Disco SE and a 2004 Disco SE ?
I am looking into an 01 SE and was wondering if there is any reason to holdout for an 04.
Thanks

As previously noted, 2004 will have the 4.6L and probably fewer miles (higher cost and higher resale) as well as the CDL standard, but the 4.6Ls appear to be less reliable than the earlier 4.0Ls.
The 2001 will probably have higher miles (less cost and lower resale) and MAY have a CDL ready transfer case (depending on the build date/model number of the case itself) and will have the less powerful, but less troublesome 4.0L

if your not going to off road it, no, you will not even notice it. a lot of people buy these trucks or jeep grand cherokees for off roading, it's a cheap and easy start to take a stock "luxury" v8 into off road motor sports/modding etc. CDL is important then. very important.

Also, the exterior styling was updated a bit between '01 & '04 : Headlights/front turn signals are VERY different, taillights/reverse lights/blinkers are a little different, roof rails are beefier. Changes in interior details include the gauges and radio.
