Had the same "add fluid every week, sure smells goofy" symptoms at about 100k MILES on my 99 D2 . They persisted for a year until a REALLY HOT summer day and the failed head gasket that was causing the symptoms in the first place finally gave it up completely (steam coming out the back of the engine... not good). btw- is your dipstick and the inside of your oil filler cap coated with a fine oily white frothy goo? If so, like mine was before the head gasket was replaced, the head gasket had blown and was leaking into the engine slowly. I kept adding fluid and driving it until it finally popped completely. The bill was about $4K as they replaced everything between the hood and that blown head gasket. I could have bought another landy for that, but atleast I know exactly what's wrong with mine!!!

Call up repair places around your area and see which ones have the ability to do a coolant pressure test on a disco 2. You definitely have a leak somewhere and you have to find out where it is coming from. Some of the more problematic areas on these trucks are the radiator and the gasket underneath the throttle body (throttle body heater). I wouldn't panic just yet as it can be something very small and lets hope that it is. One thing to remember, as others have suggested, is to keep a careful eye on the coolant level as a complete overheat in these trucks can be disastrous.
As for the pipe that you are looking for, I replaced mine, and I went to the dealer for it because I was desperate. It isn't very expensive, no more than $50, so its not really a big deal to get it from the stealership. Just tell them that you need the pipe from the coolant expansion tank to the radiator and they will help you out.
One thing I am wondering is why you think you need that pipe. Is it leaking? Can you see coolant around the ends of the pipe or a crack somewhere. If you do then we have solved the problem!!!!!!
Let us know. Good luck.

well the reason why i suspect of this pipe is because a little over a year a go i cracked it by accident and taped it up instead of replacing it now i dont know how well of a job i did of taping but am pretty sure after almost a year and ahalf of it being taped and under heat am pretty sure the tape is giving up
Well, then you might have found your problem. I would replace the hose and then get the system pressure tested to be sure. You wouldn't want to run into the same situation again as you can easily overheat the engine and kill it.
this one is a mess butt if you smell coolant look at the throttle body heater and tubing, in all the years i worked on these science projects the heater cores have been good. so look at the side of the throttle body for orange juice. scott

If you overheat your engine you will be buying a new engine.

My coolant cap was not on good, it came off. The coolant evaporated, got hot....I found the issue. Filled coolant up, put cap on good.....it was too late.
My oil light then started coming on, next thing I know my engine is knocking.....
I now have another engine....and was without my vehicle for a couple of weeks.
