Default 2002 discovery II w/ SAI

Hey guys, I found a 2002 discoveryII i think i can get for $7000.00

114,000 miles in excellent shape, went through it for over a hour. I called my rover guy and he said to stay clear of SAI. MI got my daughter a 2000 Discovery II and it does not have it. WIll this SAI be a deal killer? I have a RR 95 4.0 for the past 9 years and put 200,000.00 miles on it and got it with 93,000.00 miles. Besides a head gasget job at around 180,000.00, i have kept it running like a beast doing the work myself. Anyone have any reason why this truck would be a bad deal because of SAI? let me know if so....

Thanks ALL, Chris

Seems expensive. I paid a bit more for my 2002 5 years ago with 55k miles on it in NYC. I don't care for SAI as it is just one more thing to break for no real benefit, I would not call it a deal breaker though.

SAI is in no way a deal breaker.
It will make it harder to work on because it will always be in the way.
SAI is a emissions device, it lowers them, think of it as California emissions on a Michigan truck.

SAI does need service once and awhile though.

Ditto $7K is overpriced for the miles....unless it has a LOT of goodies. I paid a little over $8000 for my '02 with 100K and I feel like I overpaid to get the yellow/Kalahari Edition Disco that I've been dreaming about for years.

SAI is annoying to deal with, but by no means should you run away from a truck that has it.

I paid $4500 for my 01 with 150,000 on it.I've got another $1200 in it for necessary repairs but that seems alittle high for an 02 with that milage.
