I bought my 02 Disco back in January with 76k miles on it from Land Rover Tulsa. Ever since then I have had a terrible time with steering. It will lock up,lose all of the fluid in the reservoir, and make a grinding noise. I have taken it in too Land Rover Tulsa 5 times in the past 6 months and they have said it was the Steering Gearbox and replaced it. It now has not even been a month and it is doing it again. I was wondering if the steering gearboxes go out all the time or if you think it is something else wrong with it. Other problems with the car. Driveshaft replaced twice, airflow sensor, o2 sensor, sunroof seal, driver's side door seal, and cargo door seal.

 

Get it back in while you still have coverage and don't let them give it back till they are sure and it has been well road tested.

 

I agree with Mike, I woudl NOT put up with this, they make it right or they buy it back from you.

 

I have taken it back to them, and they have assured me that it was fixed and they had driven it for a day or two. I have also try to have my father have the dealership buy the car back. They wouldn't do it. This is my first car and I love it to death it just has issues.
