Before you buy a new one, you might want to check with Paul Grant. He parts out, and has awesome deals(IMO)

I have had both the old and new boxes/hoses on my 2000, but the problems with each were resolved with the cone filter mod by Alex M, and you have no hard plastic (just silicon and aluminum) to mess with. Works great and super cheap.
