Default 2003 D2 oil pressure gauge install thru firewall?

Hello, can anyone suggest where I can route a 1/8" oil pressure line through the fire wall without having to pull the engine? Sorry for the sarcasm but I just can't locate any options and I'm considering drilling the firewall, preferrably on the passenger side to keep the line shorter. Could the line be brought in through the transfer gear lever opening in the center console?
Thank you for any ideas.

Cheers,
Dana

There Is a rubber grommet under the brake booster drivers side. Might be others. I ran my sensor wires through it. If I remember correctly you should be able to get a 1/8" line through it. It's also blind from the engine side, you need to feel for it. I think you can see it from the footwell side.

There is also a rubber boot in the passenger footwell that you would be able to punch a small hole through- it's where the wiring harness goes through the firewall. I have a chunky 7ga wire going through there for my dual battery plus a CAT5 cable for some switch gear, so your 1/8" oil line will be no problem! You have to remove that cardboard cover, get a flashlight, and peer way up and to the right to see it. I find it way easier to push things through from the inside because the boot extends out to the engine bay. As an added bonus it comes out pretty clear in the engine bay and it's on the side where your oil filter is and where your pressure tap is most likely going to be.

That's the kind of first class info I was looking for. On my way to search out both ideas in this thread's responses.

Cheers,

Quick thought: I would recommend against a mechanical oil pressure gauge in the cabin.

I just put an electric VDO oil pressure gauge in my Range Rover Classic (which I work in on parallel and far more frequently than my D2), it's superb and dead on accurate. I ran the RRC with a mechanical gauge for a month out the hood and zip tied to the underside of the drivers mirror. Then I installed the electric sender and electric gauge (wanted to make sure readings were the same)
