2003 D2 radio in "Wait" mode for nearly a year
My radio has been in the WAIT mode for nearly a year since shortly after buying it. It was in Wait on the day I bought it,....then after driving it a bit it changed to the mode where I could enter my code. But, the code included a Zero,.....and there is no Zeros on the buttons,....the Local LR dealer was unable to tell me how to enter the code,....I had a few suggestions from the forum, tried them,....after the 3rd or 4th attempt, it permanently went into WAIT mode and it has been holding WAIT since last November. Granted the truck was mostly parked until June of this year, when I began driving it with more regularity,....guessing I have put a couple hundred miles on it since I started driving it more regularly
any suggestions?

Try disconnecting your battery for a few minutes, every time I disconnect the battery on our 03...the radio "asks" to have the code entered (which was written down in our owners manual).
Good luck, Brian.
Chris, I'm just now seeing this and the problem is still ongoing. for nearly 2 years now. I don't have Nav,....not sure if I have a cassette or not. Ill have to check it.
Well your options are pretty wide open. Since you don't have the nav features the wiring is pretty simple. You can easily search the forum for the exact adapter you will need and it's sold on Amazon and places like Crutchfield.
If you are just looking for something inexpensive you can always find a deal at Walmart on something that will just drop in and replace the factory radio easy enough. The mechanics of swapping one out are simple, especially without the nav system.

Oh, I hadn't even considered just replacing the unit. Maybe be time to give that some thought, but, I actually would prefer to just get this unit working. There has got to be a fix for this "Wait" mode.
