I'm currently at the 1/2 way mark on replacing the head gaskets on my 2003 D2. I noticed a greasy substance on my read driver's side rim. I'm thinking it might be a hydraulic fluid leak from the rear hub. Any suggestions how to diagnose and fix or replace?

 

It is probably your hub seal but I would check your differential breather vents to make sure that they are not clogged and causing your hub to leak.

 

Thanks, where would I locate the diff breather vents? I've looked thru the RAVE manual but no luck.

 

Remove the Right tail light. You will see a black hard plastic hose. Either try to blow threw it or put your air compressor blower hose on them. Mine was glogged, made my pinion seal leak. Probably should blow them out each spring. Dont forget to top off your diff fluid. If it looks milky colored change, it as that is a sign of water intrusion.
