I had my local shop install the inline t-stat and replace all of the upper hoses at the same time. We have probably driven 30 miles or so and everything seems fine. However, I have coolant on my driveway coming from the brace directly underneath the radiator . I have attached a picture. Is this residual from coolant spilling from the repair or could I have another problem? My driveway has a slope to it

You can throw some UV dye in it to tell for sure. Check your WP weep hole, radiator end tanks, hose nipples, etc. Running the cap tight? Pressure has been known to crack end tanks if they are old.

I bought an engine with a slipped liner where the seller did not want to refund the entire purchase. Only discovered it when I pulled the heads off to install a reman set and ARP studs.

Well,

I followed the guide and bought all of the bits to pin the liners.

I did all 8, and safety wired them in. It hasn't ticked whatsoever, but it has still been building coolant pressure to the point where the top hose is rock hard. Sad to say, I'll have to find a new engine for the truck as I can't bring myself to drive it anywhere further than my work 30 miles away.

As a side note from my short but sad novel, there's a plastic splash guard above there, it seems like coolant or oil will pool up there and leak for a week or until you clean it.

When I bought my 2003 years ago, I did a power steering pump and immediately drove to Chicago for work. I came out to the parking spot to find the truck had appeared to have leaked everything it had ever contained since new, right onto my assigned spot. Fortunately it was just me forgetting to wipe up and brake kleen my mess.

Disco Update:
I took the Disco into the local LR Shop(not the dealer). They pinned the cylinders and replaced the oil pan gasket. The ticking did not go away. The mechanic thought that the oil pump may be the culprit. When he removed the oil pump he said the cam bearing were not good and that they were very difficult to replace as they were a different type then most motors. He said we should look for a used motor at a junk yard and swap it. not sure what to do with the old girl...

Ask for photographs of the cam bearing. I had a truck once when I took the oil pan off the #4 cam bearing was in the oil pan. You can definitely replace it in the truck, not easy but doable. Because you have a shop doing it he will will not want to do it though. There is a thread on cam bearing replacement, do a search if you are interested.

Several breakers sell 4.0 engines for reasonable prices. Doc Heydary and Will TIllerey are good sources. Some in FL and Mikey Bruderman in NY - search on FB marketplace.
