If you insist, at those prices just have them replace the gasket. Those are just absolute outrageous quotes. I'm blown away. Is this the dealership?

I'll drive up there and do it all in your driveway for half that price at a time that is convenient for you. Hate to see you pay that much...

Take 98Roverguy's advice and let either he or ColoDisco help you. You can rent a car from Enterprise for a few days if you have to and you'd still be saving a lot of money. Plus you'll gain valuable access to 2 individuals that can help you save a lot of time, money, and heartache over the time of ownership of your Disco. I know it's tempting to just do the easiest thing "since it's already there just let em do it". THAT is what they ae counting on. You likely came to the shop with an "I just need it back quickly" attitude, and they are taking advantage of that. You're a big boy and can make your own choices. Hopefully you'll take one of these two up on their offer. These theives will just keep at these absurd business practices if folks keep supporting them by paying the outrageous (and if you let 98 over or Colodisco help ya, you'll full understand just how outrageously they're trying to take advantage of ya)

That being said, if you insist on letting them fix it, just have them do the heater plate, and you can change the hoses later.

I checked with a buddy and we're going to knock out the inlet hoses this weekend and I authorized the shop to handle the throttle body hose. It's a concession but I asked about diagnostics and was within $60 of the job anyway.

Definitely moving forward I'm going to check with Brad, so thanks for the heads up!

I'd be curious to know what shop that was...
