Default 2003 Disco Valve Cover Leaking

My 2003 Disco ran perfectly before I let LAND ROVER VENTURA, CA service it.

They insisted on replaced myseemingly good (not leaking) valve cover gaskets - nowboth valve covers vomit oil. I'm loosing about 1/2 qt. per week. They quoted me $300 and then charged me $1,600 for the routine service and want another $799 to re-fix the issue they created.

Does anyone have exprience replacing the VC gasketson a 2003 Disco?

I've read in others posts that the intake manifold on some Disco's don't need to be removed- simply loosened to access V-covers. I this true on the 2003?

Also looking for info on the socket size and torque? Looks like a 12pt 1/4" drive?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Dont ever let Land Rover Ventura, CA work on your car!!!! Horrable mechanical standards / customer service.

Holy crap! 1600 dollars???? I'm changing mine out this weekend, I'll let you know if it is a 1600 dollar job!

I have a 2003, and really it doesn't seem like it should have been that expensive at all. Removing the Intake manifold is not a big deal, and swapping the valve covers is not a major job either. Did you have any other work done besides those gaskets? DiscoMike will talk you through the repair stuff. I definitely would not go to those guys again.

Good Luck
