2003 Discovery 2 Rear Windows Leaking Air, specially when on the highway. The air leaks from the window edges and I noticed some portion of the channels were cracked with big gap between the glass. I assume I need to replace that insert/seal inside the window frame channel to stop the air leak.bv
What do you call that window channel? window frame insert? and where can I find it? any name or part number that would help to find this replacement part?
The little felt strip inside the frame of the window likes to drop down into the door. My truck was so bad I'd get snowed on with all the windows up! My fix was to take the door apart, pull the frame out and glue the strip back in place. This was after trying to get it to stay put while the window frame and window was in place.
Is there anywhere I can buy the little felt strip? I meant the rubber insert inside the frame that guides the window glass (I don't even know the name of it to start the search, but I took a picture of it showed below)
I just bought a new one for my front passenger side. I think I just searched for a "window channel seal" and found it pretty quickly. That was for the front, not sure if rears are available anymore. My local dealer said they couldn't even get the rear ones.
Window channel seals arent available for the rear doors. I looked for a couple of years and ended up purchasing seals that will work. Look up my post or do a search for window channel seals on the forum.
