My brother has a 2004 discovery that someone did a hit and run with and crumpled the rear drivers side quarter panel. The rear quarter panel that has the rear window.

There is a 2002 discovery someone is parting out that is a colour match! Would the rear quarter panel be an exact fit on the 2004 from the 2002 model?

the only discernible difference I see is the rear tail light colours. Other than that, I was thinking and hoping it would be a match for a body graft.

Panel would be the same. Color may be slightly different, depending on fading and coloration difference from paint batch.

 

The color won't matter if you are doing a true patch job.. AKA welding etc.

 

finding a good, competent body person who can work with aluminium is a challenge where I am.

 

According to the RAVE, that body panel does not require cutting or welding to be replaced. It's bolt-on.
