2004 4.6L V8 Camshaft Position Sensor
Hello all,
I don’t post on here often because I have been lucky enough to not have many issues with my 2004 DII. But with over 180,000 miles on the clock, things were bound to go wrong. I currently have a loss of power in my rover and a code to match for my camshaft position sensor. I was wondering if you guys have any tips or a procedure I should follow to get the old one out and put the new one in? There isn’t much info online about the camshaft position sensor on the v8 rover already. At least nothing I could find. I already have the new cam sensor. I just need to figure out how to put it in. I can’t even see the old ones location with the oil filter off . Some advice would be much appreciated!

@Corbin Lauvray it is not that simple I am afraid, but I would suggest starting by pulling your fan, then tighten the retaining bolt for the sensor. Disconnect the sensor from the wiring harness and use some electrical contact cleaner. Clear the code and think happy thoughts, as long as teh code is set you are running default settings.
If that does not fix it you have a lot of stuff to check there are I believe 13 or so reasons the code can set and 16 or so problems related the 1st 13 some minor and some pretty big. But given your description I am betting loose bolt or dirty connector - I have been there myself.
