Default 2004

Just what I need another headache Thinking about a 2004 Disco II with 70000 mi.
Going to put a new Front Driveshaft on first thing.Should I get the double cardan joint even if I don't lift it much?

This truck is in really good shape (Dealer maintained) but it still has Dexcool and probably old stlye brakelines .

All maintenance records are there. I am going to look at this weekend. Anything else I need to know about a 2004? This has a trail package?? Not sure what that is

Thanks
Tom

Yes, replace with same style shaft with grease fittings on every joint. Dealer maintained means by dealer schedule, so cooling system has likely never been flushed. Take your scanner to look at codes and coolant temps, etc. Even spring for one of those exhaust gas in coolant tests. Or even better, pay an indy Rover mechanic to exam it; he does not have the hots for a new ride, and may well find things you would miss. Get it warmed up enough for "the tick" to appear.

Default Front prop shaft

My 04 has 82k on it and I am getting ready to do the front prop as well. Just have not decided on whose to install. Which one are you going to put in?

He has dropped off of all the Rover forums as of 2 weeks ago.

As for whos drive shaft to buy consider looking at the shaft from BPoU, locally built strong and no parts from China.

check the title and see how long it has been in KY, a lot of those Super Storm Sandy car and trucks are have titles washed all over the country. The national insurance board or someone has put up a website with all the vins that had claims on them, I dont have it handy but you can find it on google.

THE 2004 TRAIL EDITION?

lol Triar

The trail edition just has some extra stuff like an A bar with lights. Maybe tail light guards and a ladder.

If you can, swing by a U-wash car wash bay and hit it with high pressure across all the windows, door seals, sunroofs, and windshield. I have an 04, and of all the maintenance I've done, tracking down a windshield leak was the biggest PITA of all.

I hate that. I actually enjoyed his antics, no matter how outlandish some of his ideas were.
