Hmm, Reading this thread now makes me wonder. Last week I changed my oil using 10w40. When I started it the oil light came on flickered a bit and then went away when I reved the motor a bit. Its stayed off since. I assumed it was just the oil getting around the motor but now I'm wondering. Is there a series of VIN numbers on the 04s that have this issue as with the 03s?

Thats why our trucks take 7 qts and they take 6.
Actually, DII's have coolers, at least my 2001 does. When I pulled the radiator I had to unclip both a transmission and oil cooler as well. Do the DI's just have a larger cooler?

Hey Jaw-

I'll be doing my 2000's radiator tomorrow- anything you wish you would have known?

Thanks bro!

Pat,
If the light comes on again, at idle, then you need to have some one do a 4 point oil pressure test which will require you to leave it over night so the shop can check the engine when cold.
5/30 is light but won't cause this to happen.

Yes DI's have a larger oil cooler, they reduced its size for the American market with the introduction of the DII.
