Your temps still seem like you dont' have a low temp thermostat. I had the exact same temps when I got my new Turner engine. Around 220 at idle and 200 cruising or something like that. I made a thread about it. Once I got the Grey 180 stat or the black one, my temps are now 188-193 moving and never higher than 206 when idling. Still a little hot at idle but I gave up chasing it for now. Going to install the inline mod pretty soon I think.

What kind of driving? Did you adjust for the bigger wheels? I get 11-12mpg city, 15mpg hwy with stock tires.

I went with the grey 180 tstat (claimed to be genuine) too. It made a big difference although the fan clutch was shot. With new fan assy I get about the same temps too.

You don’t need to change the shroud, but you do have to make brackets. No modding of radiator.

Well bleeding has not resolved my issues but there was significant air in the system.

As much as I would love to convert to electric, it’s more than I want to take on at this time. I ordered the Hayden 6352 off rockauto and will swap it out hopefully this weekend. Looks fairly straightforward. Stay tuned.

i will look at doing your mustang fan conversion in the near future. Right now I need something plug and play.

I did it really to try and make life easier on my engine, and I also thought it was a cool project to do, and hated having to take the viscous fan off with a mallet.

It is much quieter on start up, the dual fan set up with the AR99 Controller is cool, probably overkill, but the shroud covers the entire radiator cooling surface. The other fans did not do that. It’s as much fan as you can get on there I believe. I did install two indicator lights on my dash later. Used some waterproof connectors off of amazon for the fans, tried to do a good job with it. Had a connectivity issue based on my inexperience essentially, but fixed that and it has worked great.

Keep bleeding your system when the engine is cold. Not sure what Disco Mikes method is but just look in the bleed screw for air and top off if needed, may take up to four tries before you get all the bubbles out.
What model flex a lite did you get?

Default Name That Tune

Working out the gremlins in the new engine. Getting a P0441 error so will replace the PCV tomorrow. New fan comes on Tuesday. Oil drip is fixed. now I am trying to understand why this thing sounds like a diesel when I accelerate.

I have attached a sound file. As I accelerate (stationary or not) you can hear a high pitched rattle. Any thoughts on what this is?

I couldn't tell you which Flex A Lite model I have, It was an optional upgrade when I had my engine swapped. I can say it operates at the same exact temps as the stock setup however it does keep running for up to 30 seconds after the engine is shut down, which I like.

One other thing I found out about electric fans is that it's not so good a thing to have when your alternator goes out. Had that happen and I'm here to say you got about 15 minutes of battery time before everything shuts down and you won't be restarting again.

I have had my new Turner motor in for about a month. Quiet, with no vibrations. Feels and drives very solid. Does not sound like yours.
