Default 3-20 Update

Looks like the spring clips fixed my P0441 error. Haven’t had an issue for over a month so I’m going to call that one solved.

The fix I did for the driver side door looks like it is holding up as well. https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...e3/#post722040

Lastly I got my oil analysis report back from Blackstone. Need to keep an eye on the chrome but other than that it looks good. Truck is running great and I am digging the $2 premium gas!!!

Oil analysis report after 5000 miles.

Good luck!...you'll need it. Those bast*ards are wedged in there tight. Hate working inside the doors on any vehicle but these actuators are the worst.

Default 4/10 Update

Replaced the drivers side lock actuator with a used part from Will Tillery $60 and it came a a few days. Whole job took about 2.5 hours and I was taking my time doing it.

Previous video from Mr. Foreman was immensely helpful. Followed along with the YouTube video on my chromebook while I worked on it and paused it as needed. Not sure I can add much to that but I have a few tips.

Good Luck!

This was a used part. I cleaned it up with some contact cleaner to get a lot of dirt and hunk out of it. Then lubed it up with wd-40 and silicone spray.

The stripped door - ready to be attacked!

One of the trickier parts is unlatch this mechanism but if you watch the video and have good lighting, it’s pretty straightforward.

The hardest part was putting the actuator back in. In the video Mr Foreman looks like he is putting it in through the bottom opening but I found the second opening was easier. Only issue was angling it around the window frame.

Looks like my power steering box leak is getting worse. Whole underside is covered with power steering fluid. I don’t want to do a full rebuild and a new box is not on my budget right now. Can anyone help me identify which seal I can replace in order to fix this?

I think this area is the source of the leak.

xrad - you are right, that is the power steering pump. I originally thought I had a steering box leak. Now I think it is leaking down from the pump. I have dried both the pump and box and will check for leaks tomorrow.

New power steering pumps were cheap when I did mine. Less than $100. Lots of peace of mind from doing that because power steering fluid is so flammable that I don't like it to leak into the hot engine compartment.
