Here’s some raw footage of some of the trip. Last 30 minutes has some of the more technical stuff in it. Noise from underneath was leveled automatically by GoPro so it’s not useful from a diagnostic standpoint.
Going to retorque shocks and shock towers. Also get under there with a pry bar and see if I can duplicate some of the trail noise. Nothing looks broken so far...
No damage that I could see. I inspected everything up front and couldn’t see much in the way of leaks or broken parts. Shocks and shock towers are secure. Placed a large pry bar onset each front tire and couldn’t see any play or hear any noises. I pressure washed the under carriage and used a ryobi surface cleaner for the hard to reach spots. One things for sure - my pretty black under carriage has been baptize in red Georgia clay and I don’t think there is any going back.
Also the Durabak has not held up well the past 12 months. Hard to clean, no longer shiny and it is peeling off in some areas. I’m going to remove it soon and spray it with some herculiner like I used on the rock sliders. Will probably do the roof too.
Lastly, I bought the nine inch LED lights on a whim knowing they were ridiculously over sized. But they are starting to grow on me. There’s no way we could have done the nighttime trail riding for one and they seem pretty well built. They have removable plastic covers over the glass LEDs and the heat sinks are pretty substantial. Mounting was easy and they did not move once I put lock washers on. Plastic protective covers
Also the trail was very dusty and the rear door seal did not seal well so a lot of road dust came in all over the gear in the back. The seal looks to be in good shape. Is this just a matter of adjusting the latch due to the weight of the heavier
Check behind the passenger rear storage bin panel. There is a black plastic vent that can come loose and fall off allowing tons of dust to get into the load space. There is a piece of styrofoam that surrounds it not pictured.
