Default 2004 Disco 2 Sunroof and motor repair questions

Hello all. I've searched through multiple threads and still want to clarify some things regarding sunroof replacement. Totally new to all of this kind of stuff and would rather do it right the first time.

1. I removed both motors (front and back), disassembled them, added marine grease and reassembled using Extincts pic/ instructions in another thread. Everything went well. Just cleaned old grease off worm gear and filled up threads with new grease. Gears turn way easier afterward (front still slightly easier than rear). Do you add grease just to threads or all the way down the rest of the armature?

2. I noticed lots of grime with what looks like hairs in the exposed gears that fits into cable assembly. Also same stuff at the cables. Does this all need to be cleaned out or is it some sort of lubricant? (pic attached)

3. Only found one rusty screw on the front sunroof track. Will be replacing glass rubber seals when they arrive. Do you also re-grease the arm joints that move the glass? (pic attached)

4. I purchased Sikaflex 291 marine urethane sealant for sunroof to frame replacement. Seems like everyone uses something different so I'm assuming this will work as well?

5. Original JB Weld work best for reattaching the drain cups?

6. I'm going to replace plastic nipples with brass fittings. Is there a diameter fitting that fits existing tubing best?

7. Last one. There are foam strips on the front side of the drain pan where it meets roof. I will replace them with new stripping. I assume these are just for vibration? They don't need to go all the way around the pan?

Thanks

All the way down the armature. The armature is what seizes normally. The iron core of the armature rust to the magnets in the housing.

Never see that before, is it greasy? Might be good to clean it. If you remove the actuator tubes and tracks you can figure out how to disassemble the actuators from the cables and remove the cables for cleaning.

Yes, I use Maxima chain was because it goes on line a spray penetrant and then dries completely tack free so it does not attract dirt or debris.

Yes

I just use silicone

5/16 Put two in the rear so it will drain even if parked facing uphill, tee all the tubes together so the front will drain through the rear if parked uphill and the rear will drain through the front if parked facing downhill.

Yes, no need to replace.

Be sure to seal the holes in the pan where the sunshades and latches are

Thank so much!

That stuff in cables kind of looks like PTFE pipe thread sealant. Working on the pans this week. Will get to the glass/frame after that and maybe I'll figure out more.
