You can cut n splice an ABS line without any issue at all. I’ve done several trail repairs with butt connectors & I’ve also re-wired those long ABS wires at the SLABS unit with butt connectors = no ill effect whatsoever. I find the $$$ ABS extensions a serious rip off, when you can just install the front sensors in the back for more length or cut n splice a longer piece of wire into it, but to each there own on that.

Engine wise it’s all good if it hasn’t been overheated. If it ticks/knocks DO NOT buy it unless you get it cheap and plan to slap in another 4.0/4.6L engine.

Check the codes, look for rust, check all electronic items (windows, sunroofs, power locks, stereo, lights, and remember these vehicles are nearly 20 years old so expect some plastic trim pieces to be broken.

If you see a lot of zip ties & cheap fixes vs quality repairs I’d walk. LR’s do not hold up well to zip ties & duct tape. They prefer quality repairs and TLC. Treat it right & it’ll treat you good.

Buying a used vehicle of any make is always a gamble, but if you know what to look for you can usually find a gem. Just don’t rush into it. If they look like crap eventually a good one will pop up.
