Default 2004 Disco S Questions

Hi all, I just purchased a 2004 Discovery for my wife with only 7900 miles. I used to have a 96 disco and have to say that this seems to be a much better truck!

A couple of newbie questions, the dealer (out of state) forgot to enclose the owners manual so execuse these questions but I do appreciate your replies:

1) There is a mode button below the automatic transmission which puts a "S" light on the dash...is this a sports mode or snow mode or something else?
2) I have the hill descent button, under what circumstances is it recommended to use this?
3) What's the recommended gas for the '04 LR2...and if it's premium are many people using regular w/o any problems?
4) The radio has FM 1&2 and also a "T" does anyone know what that refers to?
5) We got the S model without the sunroofs...has anyone added a sunroof or two...is this a very costly aftermarket/dealer option?

Cannot answer the questions, but take a look on ebay or rover connections and you should be able to get a manual - may be cheaper than the stealership to say the least.

Default RE: 2004 Disco S Questions

Hi. Here are a couple of answers to your questions. Of course the best thing to check is the manual.

1) The "S" is for "sport mode" This is going to allow the engine to hit a higher RPM before changing gears. This uses more gas.

2) The Hill descent button is used when going down a steep hill. The vehicle should be in "low" 4x4 drive and keep it under 5mph.

3) I use regular gas in my 00 disco and it seems fine.

4) Not sure what the "T" is. Might be weather or traffic channel.

5) No suggestions on the sunroofs.

Good luck.
