I was thinking crank kit route also. If that is even possible?

Never had the bottom end of one of these apart, but have used this route on other motor over the years.

i called around to a few places after i knew what the problem officially was. They all seemed to think that i would be cheaper just to replace the engine than to put the oversized bearing in. I am not sure what i am going to do, i loved that car so much but i just might have to get rid of it. how much do you think it would be worth as a trade in or sale?

I bought my 2000 about 3 years ago with a "bad" (connecting rod went through center of block breaking camshaft and ejecting part of it out the rear of block locking flexplate to block) engine. Vehicle was in otherwise very good condition, and it had 88,000 miles. I paid just over $2000, if that gives you a reference point.
