Default 2004 Disco with starting problem

Any ideas as to why there would be an intermittent starting probllem on my 2004 Disco? It has 37,000 miles. It did it first about a month ago, when turning the key to the full engage position, it doesnt do anything, but one "click" from the engine. I tried it again from the beginning and the engine started.

It did it again today and after 3 tries it started.

Any ideas??

Thanks all!

Start by having your battery and alternator tested.

Before testing remove, clean and tighten the cables.

Clean the negative battery cable ground at the engine block as well. Sometimes corrosion can get into the cable ends andits hard to see. You may have to cut the clamp and cable lug off at the battery and engine block and attach new ones, doesn't cost much.

Thank you for the suggestions!

I will certainly look out for these items. My service advisor suspects it could be a failingignition switch, and not to get it fixed until it becomes a constant problem.
