rsdevil: did you read my post #17 above?...Maybe your transmission guy has the right set of shims to set correct preload?

XRAD, I have no idea what he has or knows….

I’m dropping off the 2003 TC (the one I got from the junkyard last year). It clearly has none of the above circled in the red or green, just blank looking where all that stuff is.

He removed the TC that was in the 2004 truck already. (Which is also a 2003 swapped over by the last owner) but the cable and everything circled in the picture is all there. It’s looking like they did this swap already once.

I’ll mention to him what you are saying too look out for.

also I typed in “2004 Land Rover Discovery Transfer Case” into google and a spot came up w units for $1000 or so.
