At the end of May I am driving my 2017 Discovery from FL to NY (to my house). (Leased it in March 2018 & battery was replaced shortly thereafter).
It has about 12,000 miles on it.
I had it serviced once around 5000 miles (or so) in NY. Dealer in NY said it does not need another service until 18,000 miles.
I recently topped off the coolant and will bring coolant in case it needs it.
My plan is to check the tire pressure and oil level (and top off oil).
There is a spare tire mounted underneath.
The vehicle will be packed up with items, but not towing anything and not roof mounting anything.
Any advice on what else I should do to prepare?

Wow and I thought the D2 drivers were overly worried about their rides on long trips!! Sad you have to worry driving a 2017 model!!

I wouldn't hesitate taking that trip in my '03!! Though I would try to be as prepared as possible.

 

Like with any car make sure your cooling system is sound, you have brake pad/tire life, and fluids are good. You should be 100% fine.
