Default 275/70/18 W/ 2in lift?

Hey guys, I know this is hashed out over and over again. I've tried to do a lot of reading, but would like a straight answer. I just put a 2 in OME heavy duty lift on my 2000 Disco 2. And the stock 255/55/18s that are on there now look pretty funny

I have a stock front bumper. I know I could put 275/65/18 on without any rubbing or trimming, but would a 275/70/18 fit? I am probably going to go with the BFG All Terrain T/A KOs.

It'd be a pretty tight fit, they're 33.16" tires, but could work. I'm personally not a fan of the All terrains, they're okay at all terrains, but not great at any of them.

Thanks for the reply. Ya I figured it might be a little too tight to comfortably wheel with them. I will probably get the 275/65/18s.

As far as the BFG All Terrains, I've read quite a few positive reviews on them. Certainly open to suggestions though. I was also considering either some Nitto Terra Grapplers or some DuraTracs. Any thoughts on those?

There is very little positive that can be said about the TA A.T's other then they are slow t wear, do not perform well on any wet surface, water , snow, ice or mud and they re expensive as hell.

Yeah I'd agree there, BFG A/Ts will last a long time, that is it! They're too hard to work on snow or ice, that's why they last so long. Honestly except for the noise, the Duratracs are really well reviewed. Where I live it's necessary to go snow tires for the winter, whatever you want for the summer. I'll be going with 255.85.R16s BFG M/T KM2s in the spring/summer. I loved the 265.75s I just want a little taller and skinnier.

I have the BFG All Terrain T/A KOs on my Dodge 2500. Have to say I would be very upset had I not bought them half price from a friend after he only ran them 500miles. They only see mud and gravel and I don't think they perform well on either.

I have Falken Wildpeak ATs on my 99 D2 and they are great. No noise on the highway, but seem to be capable of handling mud and gravel better than the BFGs on my Dodge. That could be because I'm comparing a dodges offroad abilities to a land rovers though.

I am having the BFG Rugged Terrains mounted on my 04 D2 in the morning really hoping they are better than the AT KOs.

I know I didn't answer your question about fitment but just wanted you to hear my recent tire experiences. You might look into those Falken Wildpeak ATs though, they are a fraction on the price of the BFG AT KOs and seem to have just as many positive reviews.

Please post a review of the rugged terrains. They have gotten many positive and negative reviews, I'd like to hear what you think. They're not aggressive enough for me but I'd like to hear about them.

BFG all terrains pale in comparison to many of their competitors..out here in AZ, they show dry rot long before worn, and they will chunk like mad in our rocky jagged terrain (especially when the rot sets in). Not too grippy either unless aired way down, and the sidewalls are weak and puncture easily.

just my $.02..they do look attractive and they float decent in the sand..

Kumho makes some really good A/T tires that outperform the BFGs all around, and are priced better, still not the beefiest sidewall though. Look at their MT tire for ruggedness, but a bit on the noisey side.

I never ran Nittos but have a lot of buddies that swear by them.

I'm trying out a set of nexen MTs. They have a moderately aggressive tread and are not too obnoxious on road. No comment on durability or offroad performance yet. I only installed them a few weeks ago. They are 235-85-16, tall skinny's about 32in fit real good with 2 in lift.

I've put 60miles on the BFG Rugged Terrains since I had them installed this mornin. It's been all highway and a little gravel. I love them so far, they look nice and aggressive with deep tread and are as quiet as a street tire at 70mph. They are 265/60r18 and I've got them on my stock suspension but I think if I added some 1inch coil spacers they would look even better.

There's not a lot of rock crawling and such here in Arkansas where I'm at so these will mainly see mud when I find some. I'll be sure to add how they handle again in a few weeks when I know more.
