Sadly, I didn't have a code reader before I did the mod; however, I just tested the circuit with the multimeter and it's totally dead / 0 which is leading me to believe I need to replace the whole part... should I get new O rings while I'm at it for a more permanent solution... have come this far
I did this from Step 40 in the write-up (including reference pic from the write up - this is what I did), and then pushed the switches individually... the reading always stayed at no read / 0 ... The YG is grounded to the A/C line bracket retaining bolt - is that what you mean?
I would just replace the shuttle valve if you have any reason to suspect it is physically bad... it's cheap.
Unfortunately, the brake lamp relay issue probably points to a problem with your interior (under drivers side) fusebox. It's built into that fusebox (non replaceable). Usually, when I've seen that code is when the fusebox has water damage and has corroded internally.
Also, do your brake lights actually work properly (all 3 of them including the high mount stop lamp?). Check this to confirm.
PS -- Here's why I ask -- In rare situations, I've seen people install rear ladders on the back door of a D2, inadvertently drilling through the wiring for the high mount stop lamp, or installing trailer wiring incorrectly under the right rear taillight -- and then spend years chasing all sorts of seemingly unrelated problems or lights in the dash (HDC, ABS, Brake) from a short.
Replacing the shuttle valve is my initial thought too.
I know very little about electrical writing circuits in the disco,... Could the brake lamp relay flag have anything to do with me removing the rear door panel? It's all disconnected right now...
Could you please clarify what you mean by "non-replaceable"?
I'll have to check on the brake light fxn... Last I knew, yes. Not sure about the high mount stop lamp...
This is making me nervous bc after driving fine for a week, suddenly have been experiencing weird glitching with the ignition turning on at marker I on ignition... When I shift into different modes (eg drive, park), the light is no longer lighting up on the drive panel...
