Default 3 Amigos on 2004 D2 90,000 mi.

Hello Boys,

I'm a newbie here. I'm not certain if I need to start a new thread to post a question on the 3 Amigos or do as I am doing now?

Anyway, the 3 Amigos lights started coming on intermittently while driving. I turn off the engine and restart. It's gone. Sometimes I restart and it is still there. I wonder if it is a false warning?

What do you think is going on? I'll read the Codes over the weekend. Anything special to look for?

Cheers, Jim

Seren,
With the wheel jacked up, take hold of the tire at 12 and 6 o'clock and try to wiggle it, if there is play, the bearing is probably starting to fail.

Sorry it took me a 3-4 days to get back but like I mentioned, when I got home, I turned the engine off and restarted and the 3 amigos were gone. Since then, I drove over 100 miles and still no amigo! I keep my fingers crossed!
I've changed the pads and rotors last year. Frankly I don't remember the brands but I got them from British Atlantic...
Hopefully, that was simply a false signal but realistically speaking, I've owned the truck long enough to know that the problems simply don't go away!!!
Thanks for the replies.

Default just get the 3 Amigos tool

I had the Traction control, ABS, and downhill assist lights on and went to the dealer. They said replace the left speed sensor so I did. I went back with the same issue. They said replace the right speed sensor so I did. Still had the lights. Refused to go to the dealer so I got the RSW 3 Amigos tool for $200. Fixed. Done.
And I was about to replace both front hubs for $800.....

Default Same 3 amigos

The problem was diagnosed by the LR dealer as an Overlay Harness required. I have the correct part - basically a wheel sensor with a continuous cable running back to the ABS.

I am confused! The instructions I have tell me that I need to run the cable from the back wheel through and into the engine bay and follow the loom across the bulkhead. The plug on the ABS unit looks like the one in the photo that comes with the instructions.

I have come across another set of instructions which also look like an official LR document but it talks about running the cable to the SLABS which is under the drivers seat. The plug on this bears no resemblance to the one in any of the photos - can someone clarify please?
