4.0 engine removal

Default 4.0 engine removal
to remove 4.0 engine in a 99
do i need to remove trany also?

I would suspect not. You may need to remove the tranny supports and hold it up with a jackin order to shimmy the engine out though.

Just bought it has loud knock, my son is going to remove and see how much damage there is

Don't remove the engine. Depending where you think the noise is I would suggest you pull the v/covers and the oil pan, do an inspection first.

im having a problem seperating the engine from bell housing in 99/98 4.o any one can help?
