Default 439-180 thermo doesn't fit '04 DII?

At 116K, I'm getting ready for the 120 service and I'll be putting in a new thermo, etc....

Why does Amazon say it "This product does not fit your 2004 Land Rover Discovery?" Amazon isn't exactly a parts specialist, so can I assume that's incorrect and order it?

It's wrong. Mine fits perfect. If it fits 99-02, it fits 03-04. However the one i actually received in the mail is a lighter color than the one the picture.Motorad 439-180 180f/82c Thermostat | eBay

Thanks, guys. Trying to get everything ready and on hand before the cold sneaks up on us in the Northeast. Working on the truck in the cold is not fun.

I just switched to that tstat, and it has royally screwed my truck. Check this thread: https://landroverforums.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=52494. I would order the gray 180 tstat from either BP Utah or lucky8. Just my .02.

Amazon states that cause it is true, that is not the actual t/stat made for a D2, it was designed for a diesel and other 4 cylinder engines, does it work, oh yes.
Are you currently over heating is so the t/stat won't be the total cure. At your mileage, your radiator is plugging up and can not be cleaned out, a replacement is always recommended for over heating along with a t/stat.
As for your service, might want to look at my major service list posted at the top of this section cause you have left out a number of items from your list that should also be done.

I recently installed that t-stat in my '04, and it dropped temps around 10 degrees across the board.

Mike, my car runs like a dream, man. No issues at all. I'm just going to do the major service due to the mileage I have... it's just time. Your list is what I will be going through, but this post was specifically about just that particular thermo I linked to.
