4th window motor in the past 3 years
My drivers side window motor just went out again for the 4th time in 3 years. ive never had a problem with any of my other windows except my drivers side window. What could be causing my window motor to keep taking a dump on me or am I just getting unlucky with them. I bought 2 from Atlantic British, 1 from advance auto and they didn’t last to long and I’m about to order a cheap one from rock auto for about $60 to see if I have any better luck. Is there anything I could look into that would be causing it to fail early
Does the inner door bottom show any signs of water getting in?
The regulator/window track could be gummed up, and/or have a worn or broken wheel on it.
This would over work and over heat the motor, shortening it's life.
A new regulator is cheap, and a very easy install.
The driver's window almost always gets more use and wear than any of thr rest of them too.

Thanks six pack, I know there’s no water getting in but I’ll have to check the tracks out when I take the door panel off. Everything looked good last time I replaced it, if everything checks out good I’ll just throw a little grease on the tracks
Does the window move in both directions as well as the other windows? Or is it slower, even after replacing window motor. If slower than others, besides lubing (which may be the issue, but if not), try checking wiring harness or ground point for window motor/door. Maybe the wiring has worn thin in a spot and is causing not enough amperage to be available to motor. Also check your hot side of the circuit with a headlight, not just a test light. You may have a wire worn thin there too. Which, a few strands will light a test light (showing continuity)...but will not be able to run the window motor sufficently...and over time...eventually ruins the window motor. Just use a couple jumper wires and connect them to a headlight bulb and touch one lead to the hot and one to the ground (wiggle wiring harness while checking also), if the bulb lights brightly...circuit is most likely okay. If bulb is dim, try putting the ground lead to a known good ground on the body and see if it gets brighter, this will tell you if it's a ground side issue...or a hot/power side issue.

I would like to know what you found out.
I just replace a broken plastic roller on the regulator but it still doesn't work. I hear the motor running and the motor worked on a bench test. ....

When I got the motor and regulator out everything looked good except one of the plastic rollers was a little flat on all sides so I just got a new regulator and motor and all seems to be working great for now.
