Is 5/8ths deflection on timing chain too much?
Got the timing chain cover off and noticed that there was 5/8ths deflection on the timing chain on the right side while the left side was taught.
Time to replace the chain and gears?
Skanks!

no chance in hell, on a 2004 the most you need is head job and frt timing cover, sometimes a rear main seal but thats if you manage to let your pcv system clog up and blow out the intake gasket. kinda cool to see to.
goes from concave to convex.

200K is the normal time for a new chain.
Do consider having your front drive shaft rebuilt or replaced if it has not been done yet.
Check and see how many grease fittings are on the front shaft, 1 means it needs replacement 3, it has already been done. Not dealing with this can cost you a tranny.
