500 rpm sometimes and rough idle some times???
OK guys I posted this two weeks ago!
My disco runs great going down the road but my idle when stopped will go to 500 rpm some times and some times I it runs a little rough I can feel it!!
Last week my check engine light came on so the next day I went down to get the codes and on the way my light went off but I still had a code it was a cyl 1 misfire.
What I have done I pulled the plug looked great only has 7,000 miles on it did the throttle body cleaning and cleaned my low speed idle. I called this morning the dealer that sold me the disco and asked them what they did before they sold it to me they said they replaced the spark plug wires and they look new.
I have only gone 15 miles after cleaning the low speed idle it was very very dirty I haven't felt the rough idle but still have a low idle???????
What should I do next??

If it was a DI I would say replace the IACV, but being a DII I am not sure what you would do.
Weak spark can cause a low idle, depending on the plug wires that they installed on the truck they could be bad already.
I have seen them go bad in less than a month.

I think what I'm calling the low speed idle is the idle control solenoid it has two rubber hoses that come out of both sides and a wires plug in the back by the fire wall??
Yes I did the throttle body inside and out!
Could this be a crank sensor??

Is that right we talking about the same thing?

I am thinking of going down and getting my alternator tested could that be just getting weak??
FYI this did start after I changed my water pump I wounder if getting coolant in it or maybe something got loose or am I way way off? I was able to jiggle the spark plug wires when it was idling rough and nothing happen.
Also batt is 2 years old

Weak voltage wont cause this.
The engine dont not take much power to run, its everything else that sucks all the power, fuel pump, brake lights, stereo, etc.
A engine with a mechanicnal fuel pump will run on the battery alone for 12 hours or more.
