#6 plug loose

Default #6 plug loose

My #6 plug is loose and I'm unable to tighten it. I"m guessing that the pervious spaz that worked on the vehicle cross threaded the plug as it was tight coming out. Any suggestions on this or am I F*ed?

They make new thread pieces you can screw in. Google helicoil. You can run an oversized tap through and insert the helicoil in. Best repair for this IMHO. Pretty sure they are 14MM, so something like this should work:

That is about your only options. In the future use some anti-sieze on the threads to prevent this from happening.

thanks, went to pepboys and got a kit just for this....hope it's as easy as it looks.
