Goodness they really raised the price! I got this kit in September 2019, total shipped was $261. Just made a cart to see how much it's gone up and wow, $445. That's wild.

Yeah prices shot up. I checked with the upholster and we was quoting 650-680. At the time he was mentioning severe supply chain issues.

When I had mine redone years ago (I think it cost me $185 at the time, I dropped it myself) the upholstery guy said he had to clamp it on both sides and stretch it into all the dips.

Came out great, still holding up.

This stuff looks pretty reasonable.

I’m pretty sure I needed 3 cans of adhesive when I did my P38

Al Brights Supply does look reasonable. $19.10 per yard for the medium neutral. Not sure how it would match. Of course, they are all sold out of black in 67" wide and don't offer it in 64". I was really leaning towards a vinyl material and even maybe perforated, but that would have to be two narrower pieces sewn together down the middle, which isn't out of the question.

How many linear yards does a Disco need again? I can't for the life of me remember.

I got it from albrightssupply, 3 yards of the 67" stuff. I took black, looks much cooler than the original grey. The whitish plastic trims create a nice contrast. Requires 2 spray glue bottles, which I ordered from them too. The only problem I had is that the material didn't stretch well. To get it into all of the corners required quite a massage effort. Painting was not an option, since my headliner could not be cleaned to the bare fiberglass.

Why could the shell not be cleaned to bare fiberglass? In my truck, denatured alcohol easily took off all the residue from the original adhesive and left a very nice, very clean surface.

My headliner has an additional layer of fabric, which can't be removed without destroying the fiberglass. I tried all chemical and mechanical methods I had available including alcohol.
