Default is 8 seats a possibility?

Anyone ever heard of making the discovery an 8 seater? I would like to add an extra seat to the back, maybe pull one jump seat and add a stationary double seat bench with the remaining jump seat folding up to allow access. Any one have some thoughts on this or where a suitable bench seat could be located. Maybe from another land rover product with split bench seats?

I'm sure it can be done. Remember the Occasional Rear seat that was an option for the RRC. AKA the "PUKER".

Even if you had to fab a frame and get it upholstered... it can be done.

I know someone who got a rear seat for a G-Wagon from LittlePassengers, so you might want to try this place to see what they can do. Can't hurt to call.

Your source for SUV third and fourth row seats - Little Passenger Seats

My only caution would be to make sure it complies with the vehicle classification for amount of seats, build and use and most importantly seat belt anchorages. Also worth a check with your insurers.

I'd have thought it almost immeasurable, once at a constant speed it's a rolling mass and all that. What does the 2nd row seats weigh, 25kgs maybe and if you have third row maybe another 25kgs. That's only just over half the weight of another medium passenger. I wouldn't like to do the calcs to prove the mpg saving

I have an Aus. Shepperd and I am about to get a Rottweiler so the trunk area wont be enough and since the seats are leather and pretty difficult to stand on, i would like to take the back seat out and turn it into a small dog crib, I also want to use it as a shelter once in a while when I go camping so the mpg is just a tiny plus, not the only reason

I wanted to remove my rear seats when I first got the truck, but then I started actually using them. Anyway, it's pretty simple. It's just bolts on either side of each hinge the seat folds up on, pretty big torx size but I cant remember how big.
