Here ya go, it seems that when a company or importer wants to import a vehicle, then its inspected by the NHTSA and they determine if its similar enough to the US model and that its viable to alter it to meet the US spec and list what has to be done.....

So you buy the truck, have it shipped to the US, customs wont let it come in...are you going to crush the truck you paid for and throw away the $$$ you spent on shipping?
Do you think the shipper is going to ship it back to the original country for free?

No, I meant that you would have to pay to ship it back. My point was that you are pretty much screwed either way.

In France they drive on the same side of the road as us...

Ok, now find your truck, covert Euro's to USD's, add in $2000 for shipping, then the conversion to meet US laws...
Then try and tell me that you wont just buy a US model.
1 USD is about .76 Euro's.

Could it be imported as a vehicle that's not going to be driven on the streets? You know, as an untitled vehicle?

current exchange rate is $1 = .67 euros. When we start printing more money to pay for obama's spending expect that rate to get MUCH worse. If you're going to import a rover you'd better do it now.

How short our memories are, Bush started the whole economic down turn.
The average American family made 13% less money per year in 2007 than in 2000 but paid 35% MORE for health care in 2007 than in 2000.
Bush Jr. has been ranked in the top 5 worst Presidents for the US economy.
