Default 95 discovery auto transmaiison

Now that I've got the vehicle registered and running:

It appears to stay at an idlerpmof 800-850 in neutral

My running rpm from mph 25-65 keeps leveling off at around 2800 rpms
I expected 2000 to 2100 rpms, whats normal??

Is there a vacum line or valve body attached to the trans. that could create a delay in its shifting ? I sometimes want to fiddle with the gas pedal to prompt it to shift sooner..

That is normal.
Your idle when warm should be between 500-800rpm. Remeber that your tach is not 100% accurate.

sounds about right, however there is a kickdown cable of sortsthat hooks up to your throttle linkage
