if you're going to SBC it be ready for a lot of things.
1. custom motor mounts and crossmember
2. Gauges won't work (i doubt AA or painless make a harness or adapter)
3. your best bet is to ditch your entire driveline, maybe minus axles. Use a chevy trans/tcase.
4. linkage . . . . it's all going to have to be custom
5. exhaust, all new, might have to make custom headers, depends on frame rail clearance
6. if you want fuel injection you're going to have a MESS of wiring to do! i know painless makes a harness for that though.
7. brakes are going to be an issue since you have traction control and your computer is gone. PROBABLY want to eliminate ABS and go with a corvette master cylinder or something like that.

look back through topics there were several "sticky threads" on this. I to am lookin into a new engine. www.carcannibal.com has given me the best estimate so far. turner engineering also has lots of useful info...
