97 Disco I ABS light
So my ABS light comes and goes sometimes staying on the entire drive that day and sometimes going off when it is supposed to after I hit around 7mph.
Problem is that whether it is on or off occasionally and always at low speed (below 10mph) the ABS system engages and I have come close to hitting someone or not stopping in time at a light or stop sign. This maybe happens once or twice a week. The light in not always on when it does happen.
In reading the shop manual on the system I am trying to start with the easiest and cheapest repair. Can I use brake cleaner spray on the wheel sensors to clean them and if so will that possibly work? Or will the cleaner damage them? How can I be sure they are seated properly? I don't want to shove them down only to have them too close and damage them that way.
Any Ideas on what steps I should take and in what order would be great!
Thanks
